I just heard this song by Luther Vandross "I'd Rather"

I thought sometime alone was what we really needed
you said this time would hurt more than it helps but I couldn't see that
I thought it was the end of a beautiful story
and so I left the one I loved at home to be alone (alone)
and I tried to find out if this one thing is true
that I'm nothing without you

I know better now and I've had a change of heart
I'd rather have bad times with you, than good times with someone else
I'd rather be beside you in a storm, than safe and warm by myself
I'd rather have hard times together, than to have it easy apart
I'd rather have the one who holds my heart

And then I met someone and thought she could replace you
we got a long just fine we wasted time because she was not you
we had a lot of fun though we knew we were faking
love was not impressed with our connection built on lies, all lies
so I'm here cause I found this one thing is true
that I'm nothing without you

I know better now and I've had a change of heart
I'd rather have bad times with you, than good times with someone else
I'd rather be beside you in a storm, than safe and warm by myself
I'd rather have hard times together, than to have it easy apart
I'd rather have the one who holds my heart
who holds my heart

I can't blame you if you turn away from me, like I've done you
I can only prove the things I say with time, please be mine
I'd rather have bad times with (please be mine) you, than good times with someone else
(I know) I'd rather be beside you in a storm (anytime), than safe and warm by myself (so sure baby)
I'd rather have hard times to gether, than to have it easy apart
I'd rather have the one who holds my heart (my heart)
I'd rather have bad times with you (surely), than good times with someone else (surely)
I'd rather be beside you in a storm (oh yeah), than safe and warm by myself (all by myself)
I'd rather have hard times together, than to have it easy apart (you know it)
I'd rather have the one who holds my heart
I'd rather have the one who holds my heart
I'd rather have the one who holds my heart
who holds my heart

Negarcia,
This song is the one that relates to me and gives me some hope. Since he told me he wants to work it out. And each time I hear it I think just maybe it's true, "if it works, it's gon' be forever".

Look it up. Jeremih's Love Don't Change

This a part of the main chorus:

But when it hurts, I can make it better.
Girl if it works, it's going to be forever.
We been through the worst,
Made it through the weather.
Our problems and the pain...pain,
But love don't change.

Thank you for sharing. If I reverse it even though I'm the BS the song would be fitting but my husband doesn't know what he wants and is still with the OW.

Here is another song I happened to hear one day.

I love it as its perfect for all of us who want to stay togerther.

I am a rock fan, recently i have heard "Until it sleeps" by Metallica.
Although it is a loud song but it gave me great relief, it describes the pain i feel in a very different way, make sure you read the lyrics when listening to the song [smile]

Where do I take this pain of mine?
I run, but it stays right by my side

So tear me open, pour me out
There’s things inside that scream and shout
And the pain still hates me
So hold me until it sleeps

Just like the curse, just like the stray
You feed it once and now it stays
Now it stays

So tear me open but beware
There’s things inside without a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me until I’m clean

It grips you, so hold me
It stains you, so hold me
It hates you, so hold me
It holds you, so hold me
Until it sleeps

So tell me why you’ve chosen me
Don’t want your grip
Don’t want your greed
Don’t want it

I’ll tear me open, make you gone
No more can you hurt anyone
And the fear still shakes me
So hold me until it sleeps

It grips you, so hold me
It stains you, so hold me
It hates you, so hold me
It holds you, holds you, holds you
Until it sleeps

I don’t want it

So tear me open but beware
There’s things inside without a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me... till clean

I’ll tear me open, make you gone
No longer will you hurt anyone
And the hate still shapes me
So hold me until it sleeps
Until it sleeps

O sh*t, not a good idea to watch that youtube video at work.  Definitely grab a tissue before watching.  IF we stay together this is exactly how it will be.  Thanks for sharing that one.

Big rock and Metallica fan here and this is perfect.  It's one of those days and I'd I have to confess I never in a million years thought I'd cry over a Metallica song!

I love Music, there is not much that I do not like.

I have an Alison Krauss / Union Station CD that I was listening to a couple months back and this one hit home at the time.  Still does depending on my day.

One more from Alison.  Find my way back to my heart

[chorus]
Till I find my way back to my heart
For there's no one but me's gonna take my part
It's too early to say that it's over
Or to find we can make a new start
It's too early to say
Till I find my way back to my heart

I love music, more than your average Joe. I didn't listen to any for many, many months. It was just too hard. I'm starting to listen again now. Music is very powerful.

I second that Keepabuzz.  You have to steer clear from any triggers for a while.  Some days I can listen again.  But 9 months out, certain songs still bother me sometimes.  Just brings up the negative thoughts. I have Sirius Satellite and listen to the "chill" (down tempo electronic) station.  Doesn't really push any buttons. That and my Christian beats. [smile]

For me music is like air and water, I am listening always, sometimes I listen to music to make me cry intentionally when I want to let it all out, I feel better afterwards.
The worst triggers for me are photographs.

I love music and listen via ear buds when I'm in my office, usually choosing something with lyrics to match my mood. I have a few song triggers when something comes up that AP liked. It happened when I was out with my family at a restaurant last month. Some things are forever tainted.

"Fallen" by Sarah McLachlan, well, it fits.

Invisible, you want a good cry?  Listen to "Tell Your Heart to Beat Again" by Danny Gokey - VERY RELEVANT.
Also check out Plumb, she's an indie contemporary Christian artist sounds like Evanescence.  Ressurection, Exhale, Lord I need you now, and Restored. (Quotes on all those [smile]
